View All PositionsCore Values
We've worked hard to create an organizational culture that supports our employees and accelerates our success. At the heart of driving our mission in creating jobs and opportunities for the Charlotte community are the CRVA’s Core Values of trust, collaboration, innovation, integrity, engagement, accountability and inclusion. These foundational tenets were developed and defined by team members from across the organization, making them equally authentic and powerful in their influence.
Strategic Direction
The CRVA follows a strategic planning process to drive the organization's vision, support its mission, align focus and resources, and provide measurable targets to gauge performance and growth. Developed collaboratively between CRVA Executives, the Senior Director Strategy Team, Directors and Managers, the CRVA's Five Year Strategic Plan charts a direction that is both aspirational and competitive. It is the steadfast compass that keeps team members working collectively toward the same long-term goals. The corresponding Strategy Map illustrates the top-level components of the plan.
Distributed Leadership
At the CRVA, leadership is expected from every layer of the organization, ultimately yielding a culture where communication and collaboration are fundamental to how everyone interacts. It means the voices of many help to chart the organization's direction. Team members are expected to operate with transparency, build meaningful relationships and leverage the strengths of others to accomplish great work together. Intentionally seeking opportunities to grow the talents, skills and expertise of others helps cultivate engaged employees who are empowered to expand their capacity and contributions to the organization. Collectively, these actions embody how distributed leadership is practiced at the CRVA.
Advisory Committees
The CRVA has four longstanding, employee-led Advisory Committees to help provide oversight in critical areas including Rewards & Recognition, Innovation & Ideas, Diversity & Inclusion and Risk & Safety. Advisory Committees are valuable contributors to the CRVA’s core values and employee-first culture, and offer great opportunities for employee growth and leadership. These groups also support engagement by creating a forum for CRVA team members to help shape the approach to important aspects of the organization's operations.
